4-Acetoxymethylbenzoic acid/Ac-HMBA-Linker (CAS 15561-46-3) is a chemical compound with the formula CH3CO2C6H4O2. It is a white solid that reacts with butyric acid to form 4-acetoxybutanoic acid. The reaction may be carried out in a sealed tube at room temperature, and the product precipitates as the reaction proceeds. This chemical can also be used in the synthesis of polystyrene through the nitration process.
