Synthesis Analysis
The synthesis of 2-Amino-3,5-dichlorobenzonitrile involves several steps, starting from simple nitriles or acrylonitriles. Matsumura, Saraie, and Hashimoto (1976) prepared 2-Amino-3,3-dichloroacrylonitrile, a related compound, in 96% yield by addition of HCN to the C-N triple bond of dichloroacetonitrile, demonstrating the versatility of nitriles in synthetic chemistry
