2,2-Bis(3-aminophenyl)hexafluoropropane is a divalent, hydrocarbon group, nonaromatic compound that has a nitro group. It is insoluble in water and has a viscosity of 1.6 mPa·s at 25 °C. 2,2-Bis(3-aminophenyl)hexafluoropropane is also a monomer that can be used to make polymers. It has been shown to have microfiltration properties and can be used as an adsorbent for organic compounds. This chemical is an important component of fluoropolymer membranes for use in the manufacture of drinking water systems and has been used as an electron microscope stain because it adsorbs to the surface of the object being viewed.
