Synthesis Analysis
The synthesis of pyrazine derivatives, including this compound, has been studied extensively. In general, six synthetic approaches namely condensation reaction, ring closure, metal catalysis, green reaction, Maillard reaction, and acid catalyst on N-substitution have been reviewed . A chemoenzymatic synthesis method has also been reported, where 3-ethyl-2,5-dimethylpyrazine can be produced from L-Thr by a simple bacterial operon .
