Chemical properties:

2-Amino-5-chloro-trifluoromethylbenzene is a colorless liquid, b.p.66～67℃/400pa, n20D 1.5070, relative density 1.386, soluble in organic solvents, hardly soluble in water.

Use:

1.2-Amino-5-chloro-trifluoromethylbenzene, also known as 2-trifluoromethyl-4-chloroaniline, is an intermediate of the fungicide triflumizole.

2. Red base VD is mainly used for dyeing and printing cotton cloth, and is also used for dyeing viscose fibers. It is coupled with naphthophenol AS and AS-E to obtain a bright yellow-red color with excellent light fastness. This product has strong coupling ability and slow coupling speed. Chemicalbook often uses naphthophenol AS and AS-D as a primer for direct printing during printing; or dyes red on cotton cloth with naphthophenol AS and AS-D as a ground color for discharge printing.

3. This product is an important intermediate for the synthesis of fluorine-containing herbicides, medicines, and dyes.

Production method:

The preparation method is to react 2-aminotrifluoromethylbenzene with acetyl chloride to protect the amino group, then use chlorine gas to chlorinate the benzene ring in the presence of a catalyst and then hydrolyze to obtain the product.
