Description of CAS NO:25054-06-2  Aldehyde ketone resin, replaced BASF Laropal A81

Aldehyde resin, also known as polyaldehyde resin, has excellent yellowing resistance, weather resistance and compatibility.

It is widely used in solvent-based inks and coatings, general colorants, solvent-free coatings, UV light-cured coatings, adhesives, powder coatings, resin modification and other systems to improve the product's yellowing resistance, weather resistance, and stability with other resins. Compatibility, quick drying, gloss, adhesion, pigment wettability and dispersion, increased solid content and other properties.

Intermiscibility

Aldehyde resin has good compatibility with most resins used in coatings and inks, including but not limited to the following resins:

Maleic Resin Aldehyde Resin
Phenolic Resin Rosin Modified Resins
Polyamide Resin Polyester Resin
Polyvinyl Butyrals Carbamide Resins
Nitrocellulose Melamine Resin
Epoxy Resin Urethan Acrylic Resins
Vinyl Chloride Copolymers Chlorinated Wax
Epoxy Resin Chlorinated Ethylene Copolymer

Applications of CAS NO:25054-06-2  Aldehyde ketone resin, replaced BASF Laropal A81

(1) solvent-based coatings
1. Used in automobile repair paint, motorcycle paint, bicycle paint and other systems to improve gloss, hardness, yellowing resistance and weather resistance. The recommended addition amount is 2%-5%.
2. Used in nitrocellulose coating systems, it can increase resistance to yellowing, improve solid content, gloss, and flexibility of coatings to aromatic hydrocarbon solvents. It can replace equivalent nitrocellulose. The recommended addition amount is 20%-30%.
3. When used in alkyd paint, it can reduce the viscosity of alkyd resin, increase hardness and gloss, etc., and can replace equivalent alkyd resin. The recommended addition amount is 5%-10%.
4. Used in alkyd and amino coating systems, it can improve hardness, increase gloss, fullness, weather resistance, etc. It can replace equivalent alkyd resins. The recommended addition amount is 20%.
5. Used in alkyd and chlorinated coating systems, it can improve the compatibility between chlorinated resin and alkyd resin, improve solid content and gloss, and can replace equivalent alkyd resin. The recommended addition amount is 10%.
6. Used in color steel coating systems, it can improve the adhesion, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, weather resistance, etc. of fluorocarbon and polyester, and can replace equivalent fluorocarbon or polyester. The recommended addition amount is 10%- 20%.
7. Used in powder coating systems, it can improve leveling, improve adhesion to the substrate, gloss, etc., and can replace equivalent epoxy resin. The recommended addition amount is 5%-15%.

(2) solvent-based ink

1. Used in polyamide ink systems, it can improve pigment dispersion, increase gloss, adhesion, leveling, quick drying, etc. It can replace equivalent polyamide resins. The recommended addition amount is 10%-15%.

2. Used in polyurethane ink systems, it can improve gloss, adhesion, cooking resistance, etc., and can replace equivalent PU resin. The recommended addition amount is 10%-15%.

3. Used in nitrocellulose ink system, it can improve gloss, adhesion, flexibility, pigment wettability, etc., and can replace equivalent NC resin. The recommended addition amount is 15%-55%.

4. When used in chlorinated polypropylene ink systems, it can improve pigment dispersion, increase composite strength, etc., and can replace equivalent chlorinated PP resin. The recommended addition amount is 15%-20%.
