Interactions of Aluminum(III) with Phosphates
Aluminum phosphate CAS NO:7784-30-7 interactions are complex, particularly due to the precipitation of AlPO4, which complicates the study of the aluminum(III)-orthophosphate system. Research has shown that organic phosphates, phosphonates, and nucleoside-5'-monophosphates bind similarly to Al(III), with stability constants being estimated for these interactions. The importance of citrate as a binder of Al(3+) in blood serum is highlighted, and the study also delves into the binding of Al(III) to di- and triphosphates, which is distinct from monophosphate binding. The structures of these complexes have been supported by (31)P NMR measurements

Scientific Research Applications of CAS NO:7784-30-7  Aluminum phosphate
1. Atomic Layer Deposition
Aluminum phosphate is significant in atomic layer deposition (ALD), a technique with nanotailoring capabilities. It's used for down-scaling micro-electronic devices and for creating model systems for a broad range of applications like electrocatalytic water splitting and biocompatible coatings

2. High-Temperature Electric Heating
Aluminum phosphate plays a role in manufacturing heat-resistant mica-phosphate materials with high performance characteristics. These materials are significant for engineering and construction industry applications

3. Graphite Oxidation Inhibition
Aluminum phosphates are effective inhibitors for the oxidation of carbonaceous materials, such as graphite. They increase the onset temperature for oxidation and lower overall oxidation rate constants

4. Automotive Catalysts
Aluminum phosphate (AlPO4) is a robust support material in automobile catalysts. It helps in reducing Rh loading due to its ability to anchor nanoparticles strongly onto the phosphate surface

5. Phosphate Removal from Wastewater
Aluminum phosphate assists in removing phosphate from wastewater when used with polyelectrolytes and clay. This process improves efficiency and reduces the required dose of aluminum sulfate for coagulation

6. Lithium Battery Applications
Aluminum phosphate coatings on cathode materials like LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 enhance the stability and performance of lithium batteries, especially at high temperatures

7. Aluminophosphate Molecular Sieves

8. Phosphate Adsorption
Aluminum hydroxide modified palygorskite nano-composites, incorporating aluminum phosphate, show a high capacity for phosphate adsorption from aqueous solutions, making them suitable for environmental applications

9. Polyphosphate Adsorption and Hydrolysis
Aluminum oxides, including aluminum phosphate, play a crucial role in the geochemical behaviors of phosphate-containing species, influencing phosphorus mobility and bioavailability

10. Use as Phosphate Fertilizer
Waste aluminum phosphate from pharmaceutical industries has potential use as phosphate fertilizer, influencing the availability of phosphorus in soil and crop production
