Product introduction
Introduction and application of GLYCEROKINASE | CAS:9030-66-4
Use In adipocytes, because there is no glycerol kinase, the glycerol produced by fat decomposition cannot be used. It can only be transported to the liver, kidney, intestine and other tissues through blood circulation. Under the action of glycerol kinase (glycerokinase), it is converted into 3-phosphoglycerol, and then dehydrogenated to form dihydroxyacetone phosphate, and then oxidized and decomposed along the sugar metabolism pathway to release energy. It can also be converted into glucose or glycogen along the gluconeogenesis pathway in the liver. Glycerol is phosphorylated to 3-phosphoglycerol under the catalysis of glycerol phosphokinase.
