GOS ceramics belong to the hexagonal crystal system, so there is a birefringence phenomenon on the grain boundary, which makes it translucent. The material has high light output, low afterglow, low hardness, easy processing, wide emission spectrum distribution, extending from 470nm to 900nm, matching the spectral sensitivity of silicon photodiodes, non-toxic, non-deliquescent, and stable chemical properties. Therefore, it is widely used in security inspection and medical CT detectors.
