Description of Tertiary carbon glyceryl acrylate (ACE/MACE )

Tertiary carbon glyceryl acrylate ACE is obtained from tertiary glycidyl carbonate (E-10p) through the reaction of the active group epoxy group and acrylic acid (AA). However, E-10p is not easy to undergo free radical polymerization of acrylate. Grafting onto the acrylic polymer chain segment causes disadvantages such as low conversion rate of the modified acrylic resin and poor paint film performance.

Therefore, the above problem is solved by first synthesizing tertiary glycidyl carbonate and acrylic acid monomer into a prepolymer (MACE) under the action of a catalyst, and then performing a free radical polymerization reaction with acrylic esters.

Applications of Tertiary carbon glyceryl acrylate (ACE/MACE )

This product can be used in the synthesis of water-based adhesives, water-based dispersions, thermosetting acrylic resins, and as a monomer or diluent in UV light curing systems.

Due to the typical characteristics of the tertiary carbon structure, it is good for the dispersion of pigments, thereby improving the transmittance of UV rays, and is good for the wettability and toughness of powder coatings.
